The GrowHaus is just one part of an ecosystem of connected institutions that are working to bring about a more sustainable and equitable Denver. Without the support of each of these groups, our work would not be possible.

Community Partners


Cocina Campesina is a socially conscious “Pop-up Restaurant” that honors peasant food and remixes it for the South Platte watershed. Cocina Campesina holds monthly dinners featuring regional cuisine; 70 percent of the proceeds go towards purchasing produce for The GrowHaus farmstand.

LiveWell Globeville-Elyria-Swansea is a nonprofit organization committed to reducing obesity in Colorado by promoting healthy eating and active living. In addition to educating and inspiring people to make healthy choices, LiveWell Colorado focuses on policy, environmental and lifestyle changes that remove barriers and increase access to healthy behaviors. In 2011, the Globeville-Elyria-Swansea became one of the communities that LiveWell is investing in.

Groundwork Denver  brings about the sustained improvement of the physical environment and promote health and well-being through community-based partnerships and action. They provide volunteers through their Green Team as well as oversight and management of our Farmer-in-Training program.

Focus Points Family Resource Center is a nonprofit in our neighborhood of Elyria-Swansea that serves primarily young, low-income, Spanish-speaking immigrant families in northeast and north central Denver through family-literacy programming.

Ashara Ekundayo is a longtime community activist and media consultant that works around issues of food justice and the arts. She is the founder of the Pan-African Arts Society as well as Blue and Yellow Logic, and was a 2009 Green For All fellow. She is now continuing her food justice work in Oakland, CA.

Growing and Distribution Partners


Colorado Aquaponics is a Denver business providing design, construction, consulting, and education about aquaponics systems to residents of the Denver area. They are overseeing the construction of our aquaponics systems as well as providing ongoing education at our facilities.

Circle Fresh Farms is an organization with the goal of raising awareness of and providing alternatives to the way current agriculture functions. Located in Denver, they receive their fruits and vegetables from several local, all-natural farms, creating a group of “Network Farmers”. As a whole, their work with local farms and businesses help build a stronger community economically, socially, and environmentally.

GreenLeaf is a nonprofit dedicated to youth development in Northeast Denver through urban farming. They manage two plots of land in the Five Points and Cole neighborhoods and collaborate with us on educational programming and outreach.

 


The High Plains Food Co-Op is is a grassroots network of local  producers and consumers uniting interests in locally grown food. They distribute throughout the Denver metro area on a monthly basis, and are working with The Growhaus to make a portion of that food available to residents of Elyria-Swansea.

Mo' Betta Greens Marketplace  is a community-run farmers' market in the Five Points neighborhood of central Denver. They work with The GrowHaus to develop a distribution network for healthy food in Denver's Near-North-East neighborhoods

Supporters


The Colorado Health Foundation  hopes to make Colorado the healthiest state in the nation by investing in grants and initiatives to health related nonprofits that encourage healthy living. They have provided ongoing support for core operating and capital costs of The GrowHaus.

The Denver Office of Economic Development helps create a local environment that stimulates balanced growth through job creation, business assistance, housing options, neighborhood redevelopment and the development of a skilled workforce. It has provided critical funding to The GrowHaus to renovate our hydrofarm.
